Austria gets involved in Turkish campaign debate, bans ministers

After Germany and the Netherlands, Austria has now got involved in the diplomatic crisis between Turkey and several European states.

Austrian Prime Minister Christian Kern has said that he will move to ban any Turkish minister from coming to Austria if they seek to carry out any campaign for the referendum in Turkey.

Responding to questions by journalists on the matter, the Austrian prime minister said, “I will try and block any such attempt [by Turkish officials] on grounds of public security.”
