Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan said on Friday Kurdish YPG forces were still present in a region of northern Syria west of the Euphrates river and must be pushed back from the area.

Speaking at an energy and security conference in Istanbul, Erdogan said that focusing military efforts in Syria against Islamic State alone would be a mistake because it would allow other militant groups to strengthen.
