Islamic State group claims responsibility for UK Parliament attack

The jihadist Islamic State (ISIS) group has assumed responsibility for the UK parliament attacked which resulted in the death of five, including the perpetrator.

The group, which is losing ground in Syria and Iraq, claimed responsibility via its Telegram channel, saying one of its ‘soldiers’ had carried out the attack.

The group has also claimed responsibility for other ‘lone wolf’ attacks later deemed to have no connection to it. Experts say IS is trying to show defiance as it faces defeat in its strongholds.
