Powerful blast in southeast Turkey, several wounded – Reports

A powerful explosion has struck the southeastern city of Diyarbakir in Turkey, wounding several people, local media reported Tuesday.

Police and ambulances have arrived in the Baglar region of the city, according to the DHA news service.

Turkish news agencies are reporting that the cause of the explosion that took place in the car repair building belonging to the police headquarters in the city is unknown, with locals saying it may have been a gas leak.

PKK (Kurdistan Workers’ Party) militants carried out an attack against the same police headquarters last year, killing two police officers.
