Putin, Trump to discuss Syrian settlement, anti-terror cooperation

Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump will discuss the prospects of the Syrian conflict and bilateral anti-terrorism cooperation this week, the Kremlin said Wednesday.

“On Syria, I think it will be the Syrian settlement, the Astana process. Probably issues of possible cooperation between Russia and the US and, if the US side is ready, in the interests of continuing the joint fight against terrorism,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters.

Putin is expected to meet Trump on the sidelines of the G20 summit in Hamburg on Friday.
