Initial results from Turkey’s referendum show the ‘Yes’ vote at 60% with with 35% of ballot boxes counted.
However, 35% of ballot boxes does not mean 35% of the vote as counting began earlier in the less densely populated eastern regions of the country. As cities like Istanbul, Ankara and Izmir are counted the ‘Yes’ vote’s percentage is expected to go down.
Earlier results from the 32 cities in the country’s east showed the ‘No’ vote was ahead with %60.2 with the ‘Yes’ vote at %39.8.
